Air conditioning and refrigeration units are typically a facility’s biggest energy consumers and can account for over 75% of the electric bill even when they’re new and operating perfectly. Over time, the oil in the refrigerant tends to collect all the impurities inside the system and build-up a stagnant insulating layer on the inside of the equipment.
